Description
The Jewels of Valonia is the first book of the Chronicles of Valonia. It follows 12-year-old twins, Gareth and Rachel, as they embark on a mystical adventure after travelling to the remote village of Valonia, where everything is far from what it seems. An encounter with a stranger leads them into a world of sorcery and danger. As they pass through the realms of time, the twins realise that their destiny lies within powers that they have yet to understand and control.First Line
The sky was dark and dismal and the rain fell gently on the party of mourners standing around the grave, as the minister said the final words.
Reviews
I found this book by accident whilst I was just browsing in the lakes- to be honest I bought it just for something to read whilst waiting for someone. I'M GLAD I DID.I was hooked from the first page. I would recommend it to anyone! -- 5* Amazon Review
Really enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the next book to come out so I can see what happens. Would recommend to children and adults alike! -- 5* Amazon Review
This was an excellent read. If you found yourself enthralled by Harry Potter this will be a perfect replacement. The book leaves you guessing all the way through with some really exciting and unexpected outcomes. As the pace and intensity of the book increased I found myself totally engrossed -- 5* Amazon Review

A really neat story giving the Arthurian legend a new twist. This is a great story for young and young at heart. The first in a series and I can't wait for more. Karen does a super job narrating - the characters leap to life from her lips.
