Paul Almond

Paul Almond, OC, is one of Canada’s preeminent film and television directors. He has directed and produced more than 130 television dramas for the CBC in Canada, the BBC, ABC, and Granada Television in the U.K. A trilogy of films that he wrote, directed and produced (Isabel, Act of the Heart, and Journey) is considered part of the Canadian film canon. In 2003, he became an Officer of the Order of Canada. He has now turned his talents to writing a series of novels based on his own family’s pioneering adventures in Canada. Paul Almond lives on the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, and in Malibu, California.
